Penny Black stamp

First stamp was invented and released in UK by British Post in 1840. It is called "Penny Black". There were 68.8 mln stamps printed total - 240 stamps in one block. Penny Black stamp = 1 pence was designed by graphic Henry Courbould based on Queen Victoria portrait done as medal by William Wyon. Penny Black stamps are still available as collector items. Stamp idea was so bright, that it moved to other countries quite quickly in 19 century.
